The purpose of this forum is to allow for tracking and community reporting of progress toward the goals of the "Hialeah Healthy Families Community Plan to Combat Childhood Obesity."
Background
The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Foundation launched the Embrace a Healthy Florida Initiative to address the causes of childhood obesity. The City of Hialeah is leading this effort and coordinating the work of 17 mini-grantees from area organizations. Four target areas were identified to focus the Hialeah Healthy Families initiative:
Monitoring Progress Tracking key community outcome measures as well as intervention data allows stakeholder to assess and highlight progress towards the goals of Healthy Hialeah families. |

Living Healthy Parent/Caregiver Seminars underway!
When: Every Thursday at 4:00 pm *starting on August 30, 2012
Where: Centro Mater Walker Park Room 4, 800 W 29 Street, 33010.
All caregivers are invited. Groups will be led by a child psychologist. Snacks, prizes, and childcare will be provided.
