Description
The Kansas Assistance Network, LLC (K.A.N.) is a nonprofit health insurance agency and subsidiary of the Community Health Council of Wyandotte County. Previously made-up of Marketplace assisters, KAN’s agents provide unbiased enrollment assistance and community outreach for health insurance including Medicare, Medicaid and Marketplace. They offer health literacy education to help families know how and where to get the healthcare while providing additional social service resources to improve their daily lives.
Goal / Mission
To improve the lives of Wyandotte and Johnson County families by aiding with health insurance and assistance program applications while providing health literacy education to increase appropriate use of services to narrow the gaps between service providers.
Results / Accomplishments
Assisted with over 2000 applications and helped to reduce the uninsured rate in Wyandotte County from 25% to 17%
