Description

The Staten Island Botanical Garden is a participant in the NYC Compost Project. Located in the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, the Staten Island Botanical Garden has created a number of gardens that include representations from particular periods along with contemporary styles. The gardens are constantly evolving and offer many classes for school age children, which afford a unique learning experience combining horticulture, history and art. The gardens have many purposes including educational use as well as a location for public events.

Goal / Mission

The goals of the SIBG are to reflect man's relationship to nature and to provide educational and recreational opportunities for Staten Island residents and visitors.

Results / Accomplishments

The Staten Island Botanical Garden offers many classes for school age children, which affords a unique learning experience combining horticulture, history and art. Adult education programs are also available.
