What is this Indicator?
This indicator gives the number of juvenile justice referrals per 10,000 population aged 10 to 17 . |
| Why this is important: Juveniles enter the juvenile justice system most often through law enforcement (i.e., arrest). Often, law enforcement statistics are used as to examine trends in juvenile crime and offending. The goal of the juvenile justice system is to increase public safety by reducing juvenile delinquency through effective prevention, intervention and treatment services. |
| Technical Note: The distribution is based on data from 67 Florida counties. |
