A Good Idea

Description

Women Alive is a non-profit organization run by and for women living with HIV/AIDS. Services offered include treatment advocacy and education; weekly support groups; yoga classes; massage therapy; acupuncture; an HIV/AIDS library; a quarterly newsletter and a treatment guide in English and Spanish.

Goal / Mission

The goal of Women Alive is to help women with HIV/AIDS connect with each other and exchange treatment information, and to take charge of their lives, their care, and their destiny.

Results / Accomplishments

Since its inception, Women Alive members and activists have been on the forefront of AIDS policy issues, some of which have included advocating for HIV clinical research specific to women, and fighting to ensure that women have equal access to high quality life-saving care and treatment. The quarterly Women Alive Newsletter has a circulation of over 11,000 nationwide, and provides a wide variety of news, articles, and stories that are of interest to positive women.
